Abstrak
Fenomena bahasa lidah (glossolalia) telah menjadi salah satu karunia Roh Kudus yang paling penting yang dibahas sejak zaman Pentakosta (Kisah Para Rasul 2). Tradisi Pentakosta dan Karismatik melihatnya sebagai tanda-tanda pencurahan Roh, sementara gereja arus utama melihatnya lebih sebagai salah satu karunia di antara banyak lainnya. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk menyajikan sintesis teologis dari empat dimensi utama bahasa: (1) sebagai karunia Roh Kudus yang menganugerahkan tubuh Kristus; (2) sebagai bahasa doa yang memperdalam hubungan pribadi seseorang dengan Tuhan; (3) sebagai bahasa komunikasi untuk menyampaikan Injil lintas bahasa; dan (4) sebagai tanda eskatologis yang menunjukkan penggenapan janji-janji Tuhan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif berbasis studi pustaka dan analisis biblis-teologis. Hasil penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa glossolalia adalah fenomena pneumatologis yang multidimensional yang harus dipraktikkan secara tertib, dewasa, berorientasi pada pembangunan tubuh Kristus dan misi Allah, sehingga gereja terhindar dari sikap mereduksi maupun mengabsolutkannya
