Abstract

This study aims to explore the motivation of young people to participate in discipleship activities at Youth Mighty Army GBI Plaza Niaga 2 Sentul City, understand the discipleship process they undergo, and describe their perceptions of these activities. Involving 50 young respondents selected through purposive sampling, data was collected using preliminary observations, semi-structured interviews, and document studies, and analyzed through data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing/verification. The results show that intrinsic motivation is the primary driver for young people to participate in discipleship, accompanied by a good understanding of the stages of the discipleship process. Their perceptions of the quality of teaching, supporting facilities, and the overall program are highly positive, reflecting the effectiveness of discipleship in supporting spiritual growth. This study recommends that church synods prioritize youth discipleship by developing programs relevant to the needs of the current generation, local church pastors increase discussions about discipleship in Sunday sermons, and educators enhance their teaching techniques and discipleship materials. Discipleship participants are also encouraged to be more active, committed, and expand their networks so that the program can reach more young people.
