Abstract

This study analyzes how John 21:12-13 and the traditional cake “Tamo” have similarities in theological reflections regarding food. Breakfast with Jesus and the traditional cake “Tamo” became symbols of hope for the future brought into the present for the community to experience. Both become a kind of alternative world that contains protest against less than ideal realities. This study is built on a combination of Prefigurative Politics and Ritual theory by Jonathan Smith. This research is expected to provide a theological-philosophical basis as well as a call to action for the Sangihe community to move towards realizing Food Security in their area. The community no longer sees poverty and hunger as normal, but rather as problems that need to be addressed together
